Leadership
Aaron McWhorter grew up in Heard County, Georgia working on the family dairy farm. In 1969 Aaron graduated from West Georgia College with a BA in history and took a teaching position in Barnesville. During this time he also performed the duties of head men’s and women’s basketball coach and assistant football coach. In 1972 Aaron returned to work on the family dairy farm until 1985 when he started his turfgrass company, North Georgia Turf, Inc. Starting with only 25 certified acres of bermudagrass, NG Turf has grown to approximately 2000 acres with farm locations in Whitesburg, Franklin, Clarkesville, Calhoun and Fort Valley, Georgia. North Georgia Turf has established itself as an industry leader throughout the Southeast in providing high quality products and superior service.
In December 1991, Aaron started another company, Sports Turf Company, Inc. to meet the growing athletic field construction business in Georgia. Sports Turf has grown into an organization that is recognized as the preferred contractor for high quality construction projects for colleges and universities, city and county municipalities, and public school systems throughout the Southeast. High profile projects/customers include Atlanta Falcons training facility, Auburn Tigers, University of Alabama, Atlanta Public Schools, and the 1996 Olympic Softball Facility.
Aaron received a Masters in Education from West Georgia College in 1987. He is a member of the following organizations:

Aaron and his wife, Linda, reside in Whitesburg. They have three children, Mark, Merett and Natalie, all active in the family businesses, and four grandchildren.

Dan Wright grew up in Meridian, Mississippi, where he graduated high school in 1967. In March 1972, Dan graduated from Florida State University with a BA in History and Military Science, was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United State Army and started his 20 plus year military career. In August 1992, Dan retired from the Army after serving in many Command and Staff positions in Korea, Germany, Saudi Arabia and multiple stateside assignments.
In 1993, he enrolled at the University of West Georgia and in 1995 graduated with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). During his tenure at the University of West Georgia, he also was the Head Women’s Tennis Coach.
In March 1995, Dan joined North Georgia Turf, Inc. and Sports Turf Company, Inc. as the Business Manager. In 1998, he was promoted to Vice President of Sports Turf Company, Inc., responsible for the day-to-day business operations of a growing athletic field construction business. Dan has been instrumental in growing Sports Turf Company, Inc. to become a recognized industry leader in the construction of athletic/sports fields, running tracks and tennis courts in the Southeast. In 2009, he passed the American Sports Builders Associations certification exam to become one of the first Certified Field Builders (CFB) recognized by the American Sports Builders Association.

Dan and his wife, Cheri, reside in Peachtree City, Georgia. They have two children, Lauren and Dana and two grandchildren.

Mark Becker grew up in Pocahontas, Iowa and graduated from Pocahontas Community High School in 1978. Mark worked for Kawel Track and Tennis for 20 years before coming to Georgia in 2005 and joining Sports Turf and Sports Track Company. Mark is now certified by the American Sports Builders Association as a Certified Track Builder. His experience involves all phases of track and tennis court construction including planning, building and designing. Mark is the Track Division Manager of Sports Turf/Sports Track Company, Inc.

Todd Wiggins was raised in Emanuel County in southeast Georgia and graduated from Swainsboro High School in 1995. Todd graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Turfgrass Management in March of 2001. He then accepted the Turf Specialist position for the City of Roswell’s Parks and Recreation Department. While at the City of Roswell, Todd developed a comprehensive turf program that maximized available resources while providing a durable and safe playing surface for the city’s forty two athletic fields. His duties there required daily supervision of field maintenance, repairs, and new field construction.
In July 2006, Todd joined Sports Turf Company, Inc. as a Superintendent. Todd moved into the office in 2008 to assist in the marketing and sales portion of the business. He currently is the Director of Project Development where he uses his experience and education to assist customers and architects in bringing projects to fruition. His duties include project estimation, project management, specifications, and irrigation design. In December 2010, Todd passed the ASBA Track Builder Certification Test to become a Certified Track Builder. He is a member of several industry professional organizations to include: American Sports Builders Association, Sports Turf Managers Association, Georgia Urban Agriculture Council, and is an Affiliate Member of the Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Todd resides in Mableton, GA with his wife Anne and their two daughters Laurel and Kate.

Todd Weber grew up in Carroll County and attended Central High School. After high school, Todd joined the United States Marine Corps and served as a Certified Cobol Programmer and a Certified Administration Specialist.
After military service he worked for various institutions that specialized in the construction management of athletic fields.
In 2008, Todd became an Estimator and Project Manager for Sports Turf Company. Responsibilities include preparation for the cost of estimates, budgeting and project management. Todd is now the Lead Estimator due to his excellence in overseeing projects in this growing industry.

Bill Pronevitch graduated from Syracuse University in 1979 and his career evolved from major construction endeavors in nuclear generation with Bechtel Power Corporation, The U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site and the Future Combat Systems for The U.S. Department of Defense (D.O.D) with Science Applications International Corporation.
Bill joined Sports Turf Company in 2004 and became their Project Manager and Estimator. Bill has received certifications as a Certified Track Builder (CTB) and Certified Field Builder (CFB) as well as the technical chair for Natural Grass Fields through the American Sports Builders Association.
Other professional memberships include the American Association of Cost Engineers, (AACE), The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), and The Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA).
